Born and raised in Calgary, Mark completed his undergraduate degree in History in 1975 and degree in Education in 1976 both at the University of Victoria. He taught for the Foothills Board of Education and the Calgary School Board until earning his law degree from the University of Wales in 1980. He was called to the Bar of the Province of British Columbia in January 1982 and then to the Bar of the Province of Alberta in July 1983. Mark is a current member of the Alberta Bar Association and the Alberta Civil Trial Lawyers Association.
Since 1983 Mark has owned and operated a successful general practice as a sole practitioner focusing mainly on Real Estate, Wills and Estates, Corporate, Matrimonial, Personal Injury and Litigation. What Mark loves best about the practice of law is his clients and staff and interactions with the various people involved with the practice including his peers.
In addition to running his practice, Mark served as a Sessional Instructor and Mentor for Advanced Corporate and Business Law and the MBA New Venture Program (1986 – 1993) and as a Sessional Instructor for Advanced Business law at the Faculty of Law (1993 – 1997) both at the University of Calgary. Mark has also served as an Instructor for the Law Society of Alberta for Residential Real Estate (1994 – 2004).
Mark provided volunteer legal services through Calgary Legal Guidance for many years (1982 – 1997). He has served on the Board of Directors for various organizations including Calgary Enviros Wilderness School, assisting the community in foster care, young adults and unwed mothers (1996 - 2006), the Suicide Loss Prevention Centre (1990 – 1995) and for the Glencoe Club and various associated committees. Mark has also canvassed for various charities such as the Kidney Foundation, Alberta Lung Association, and the Canadian Cancer Society.
Outside of his practice, Mark enjoys spending time with his two beautiful children and keeping active by playing tennis, golf, hiking and biking. He is an avid world traveler and is a music and guitar enthusiast.
Hong Dang
Paralegal
Hong is a real estate paralegal with over 19 years of experience. She has been with Crossfield Law since 2003 and handles the real estate practice including all residential, corporate and commercial transactions. She takes great pride in her work and is always willing to go the extra mile for clients to ensure that their real estate transaction goes as smoothly as possible.
In her personal time, Hong enjoys reading, travelling, snowboarding and spending time with her family and friends.

Shelby Allen
Paralegal
Shelby is a paralegal with 17 years experience and has been with Crossfield Law since 2005. She handles the Personal Injury, Wills and Estates, Corporate, Litigation, and Matrimonial areas of the practice as well as the administration and accounting for the office. Shelby loves what she does and helping people.
Outside of work, Shelby keeps busy with her husband and two young daughters. She keeps active with spin, yoga, hiking and being involved with her kid’s activities.
